For the first time in the two countries history, an Italian prime minister won't be invited to lunch during an official meeting next week. Nobody will take care of that here in Italy, but I think it is a sing, a bad sign. Obama doesn't like Berlusconi, it is obviuos. How he could? But now everyone out there knows. Everyone but Italian people.
PS Dear Barack, if you see a couple of very young and half naked girls spinning around Berlusconi and calling him daddy, be careful.
They're not his daughters.

Dear American friends, I humbly apologize for the shameful statement made by Berlusconi. You know, he' s not just prime minister: he's the punishment for our sins. I don't know, maybe we are paying for the Christians persecutions by Romans, or for the medieval wars. Maybe he is the Italian people's purgatory. For us, he' s like hemorrhoids: we can do nothing but grit our teeth, and hope that the pain, soon or later, will pass.

If you want to try to understand the crysis of the free market economy, let start giving a look in yoour neighbours. Near my home, for istance, there two or three garages, always showing the notice "Car parking fot rent". I've seen them the first time a couple of years ago, so they are never full. But they don't want to decrease they prices. I've called two of the owners: your garage is empty because you claim an absurd bunch of money. Why don't you lower your rate, I've asked them. They invented different excuses: the maintenance cost, the inflation. The truth is that the free market doesn't work: if the demand is low, the price still remain high. And nobody buy.
The garage owners prefer not to take anything, than take less: because they dream to take more. And is that dream the inside evil of the free market economy.

Berlusconi? Again? Ok, he's got a new wig, but he's still him? I can imagine there' some confusion abroad when people try to understand what's going on in Italy, so I'll do my best to explain what I think. So, why Berlusconi won? There are a lot of reasons, and I'm not a political expert. I just want to mention three of the Silvio best friends.
- Walzer Veltroni. He didn't want to be premier, he just wanted to be the first lady, side by side with Silvio. He decided who could stay in the Parliament (Radicals, IDV) and who couldn't (Left Parties, Socialists) on the grounds of the parties' logos appeal. When Prodi was still the first minister, he started a campaign against the allied, to reach his main objective, dancing with Silvio. He has talked about his recovery for months. Now we know that he's going to win the elections: in the 2020. He has not organized a Democratic Party: he organized a Democratic Funeral
- Beppe "Fuck'em all" Grillo. He's a great comedian and a good analyst: but probably when he said to his fans not to vote, he did'nt aspect such a succes (22% of spoiled ballot papers, 3% of drop among the voters). The funny thing is that his fans are in great part progressive people, so if now there is not even a deputy who takes care of envoironment problems or struggling the precariousness of jobs, maybe Beppe has only to blaim himself.
- (In)Fausto Bertinotti. He spent great part of the last twenty years as guest in an Italian tv show called "Porta a porta". They should retire the armchair he occupied for so many years: the studio wont'be the same without (In)Fausto. He deserved his armchair with his name on it, like the Chcago Bulls t-shirt of Michael Jordan or the number ten of Maradona. Poor (In)Fausto had so many work to do with microphones and cameras, that he forgot to see what's was going on in the country. For the firts time in Italian history, the former President of the Chamber is not elected in the Chamber. But his supporters are fighting to find him a new tv show.
So, my dear friends, friendship is very important in Italy. If you have the right friends, you win.

Once upon a time there were the circus, moving from town to town, with its shows, its clowns, its funny moments and dangerous ones.
Today there is the Formula One, the tumblers still wear awkward costumes, but they drive cars instead of walking on a rope, the clowns dont't use bycicles with one wheel anymore, they judge. Stop you!, you can go, you can use good tyres, you should but we won't tell you because it's fun watching you car slipping down the road.
This year they decided Hamilton has to win, no matter what rules say. Who cares the rules? It's a circus, people must laugh. If the Hamilton's team steal information from competitors making him go faster, he is not guilty: he has to win. If his teammate run faster, than he must be punished someway: Hamilton has to win. If some other driver complain against his way to drive, because Hamilton is unfair and disloyal, than the judge punish who complained: Hamiltron has to win.
There are hundreds of camera taping how good is Hamilton, but only a video on Youtube made by some amateur shows what strange idea of honesty has this young guy.
Well done, Hamilton, you're going to win the chaimpionship: you're the king of the circus. But we prefer the old lions. They were nicer, and less wild.

Maybe it is something related with the climate change: maybe the Martian are already between us, and they are modifyng our planet. And I'd suspect also the communists, they can be involved, sure they do. Some days ago I had the clear evidence that the law of gravity is it no longer valid. I found a vaulting horse in the gymn where I was supposed to play soccer (and show my brand new shirt of Barcellona team). I used to be quite good on the horse when before they tempered with the gravity, let say, fifteen years ago: but, as an effects of what they're making to our beloved earth, I was not even able to make a vault. Nothing. Do you believe it? We must do something. I want to be light and fast as I was in the 90s.
It's all government's fault. I hope.

What would have been the French elections result if - just imagining - Sarkozy were disqualified and 8 milions votes for Royal were canceled? What would be the Formula One Championship if Ferrari were disqualified and Mclaren run with half fuel tank empty?
Weird, isn'it? Or, just exaggerating, let imagine a world where there is no Windows nor Apple, but only Linux (I know, that would be better, but this is not the point).
Well, this is exactly what happened in the Italian Soccer Championship: thr Juventus disqualified, the Milan penalized, guess who won? Ok, it's the Inter season, let Inter supporters live their moment of joy and success.
We're all envious, and you know why? Because eveyone has somebody or something we'd like to disqualified, some competitors, some enemies maybe be. But only Inter has the power to do it. Or... had it (Bye bye Telecom?)

It's time for our monthly post in English. I've read somewhere that british people, when they don't know what to talk about, talk about whether. This is why I am going to publish a gorgeus post about whether. Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you "Is it cold? Are you wearing a good whool dress? Do you have an umbrella with you?". I know you've already got mummy doing that job. And she does it pretty well. My intention is different: I'd like to ask you, hello guys, did you see the winter, by chance? We have problably lost it. We are in spring, right now. In March, the third. A great spring, with blue skies, flowers, sunny days. I can't remember when it started, maybe in the late november, as soon as the fall finished. No tracks about winter, we have no idea where it is, when it disappeared. No snow this year, no icy nights, no cold, no flu (only some annoyng gastroenteritis). Is it all fault of those stupid hair bomb sprays? Maybe, but, boys, we have to do something. I want my winter back. I don't like it, but it was part of my life. And I still have a lot of winter dresses, scarfs and gloves! What I am supposed to do? Sell them all on ebay? Er... a good idea at least...

I've been thinking on the fact the my blog is not enough international. I mean, it is not international at all: I like to write about me, my life, my town, and I have to admit that is a little limitate view. And, I write everything in Italian. Now I've decided to write something in english, from time to time, and since I can't write property in english, I think it will be fun. I could start with a reflection on the american militar bases in Italy. Dear american friends, we like you very much, we like your technology, your movies and a lot of your songs. We like less your missiles, but we can tolerate them, because we're friends, you helped us against the fascists, and so on. But remember that your are guests. Beloved guests, but guest: we can't bear a guest lording in our house. Imagine to invite somebody at your home, he decides to stay, and after a couple of days he asks you to use your car, and then your computer, and then he asks your wife out. Enough is enough, don't you think? We already have a lot of your missiles in Vicenza: now would you mind please not to consider Italy your cubbyhole and keep some of your stuff in USA? Thank you. See you on the next English article (I dont'know when, it is such a tiring job to write in your language...)
